Southern Style

I checked out this lovely book at the Library on Thursday. I have a love for things "Southern" and wanted to share little idea's in this book that I fell in love with. Kind of like a favorite pins post, but things I actually looked up in a book instead of on my computer or phone. You know, old style. Take a look:

I loved the wire baskets hanging up as a shelve. Also love the starfish in the basket. Look at that simple and cute chandelier too.

I love all things green! Look at this front porch "chandelier" idea. I also love lemons, so this is such a cute idea for me to try out. Also did you know that lemons ward off mosquitoes? So what better arrangement to have outside on your patio!

So pretty and relaxing. Don't you just want to curl up with the Bible or a good book here?

Here is another book I grabbed that caught my eye.

My love for ferns makes this a must in my house. I think I'm going to go out and buy a fern tomorrow to do this with!

The colors in this scence is what caught my eye. And I really like those curtains.

I also this idea and it makes me want to make a sign of my childhood family buisness, Palmers Plants. It would bring back great memories and would add a little personal touch to our home.

I though the stacking of these baskets was so cute. I loved that different colors of the baskets and mixing the Bread box in there for texture and color. Also love how the top basket has a tin, crab apples and greenery flowing out of it. So clever and simple! Beautiful!

Fern Love

Emily at {JDC} posted a little love for a leafy green today which insipred me to share my love as well. Here is a snapshot at my Fern Love pinterest board.

Now I am no discreminator towards the color green. I love it and plants in general. Palm trees {my madien name was palmer}, hostas, ficus fig trees, grass... you get the picture. I love the color, it clams me, soothes me, all around makes my happy. It's my favorite. So today when Emily shared her little crush I had to express my love too.

Do you see that pretty right there? That used to greet me at our Jenk's home every time I came through the door. She made me smile. I have a simliar version at our Bartlesville home now.

~ Family Worship Time ~

Family ~ Worship ~ Time

So I came across this blog that adressed a dear event of mine and I thought I would share and give you my insight.

Family Worhsip Time can be so dreading it you allow to miss the point of the time together. And with me needing everything a certain way... I am guilty of getting caught up in the setup of it all... but it doesn't need a setup.

There is no outline, no order of service, no bulletin, haha (I only wish). There isn't a set of rules to follow... except to actually do it and not just plan it.

I loved her comment, "I was just sure Family Worship Time was nothing less than Daddy reading Scripture, Mommy leading songs, children chiming in with brilliant, spiritually sound comments on it all."

Here are some deffinations to help us out:

FAMILY: Whoever is present at the time equals family. Daddy at work, Mommie out of town, whole family out of town, guests over, or us in the car... Any one of these could cause me to think Family Worship Time can’t be had, but with that kind of thinking, we’d never connect on a spiritual level.

WORSHIP: If the central focus is God, it’s worship.

TIME: Whenever you get the first two together.

Don’t get caught up in perfectionism and miss the essence of what Family Worship Time is truly all about:

Complete... the Jenk's House is DONE Stage 2!

Complete... the House is DONE, well not quite. We have signed paperwork, the loan has been funded, and boxes have been moved, but we are far from complete. This process has left me with many things I still need to get. We cut corners a lot in the buliding process, and while we thought we were saving money... and we were, we still didn't think about the part where we would still have to buy these items (much less of course, but still requires money.) As usual there are things coming out of the wood works that I didn't budget for, so the term, "if you don't have cash to buy it, then you don't need it" doesn't apply here on the need factor. However we will be waiting to get the cash before getting our rugs of all sorts, mini blinds, garage door openers, and fence. Still excited where God has taken us in the past 5 years. Glory to God!
