PL Week 3 2012

Page 6
Page six is still in progress. A lot went on in our lives in the month of January. We were only home 7 days the whole month. I'm trying to figure out how I want to finish this page. I will update the page once I get to it.

Page 7
Mostly page 7 is about us moving to Bartlesville, OK and the process of all of that. God know what He is doing even when I can't understand it.

Check out week 4 here.

Ways to Scrap-lift

Ever see a layout and fall in love with it? Well I sure do.
Scrapbook etc. had a layout that I saw and thought it would be cute to scrap-lift.
What is scrap-lifting? It is simply using someone else's layout for inspiration.
It is hard with so many pictures and so many pages to come up with new ideas each and every time we create layouts. That is why you should consider scrap-lifting as a way of staying fresh in your designs.

Here is the layout I used for inspiration.

I decided it was prefect for Emma Grace's 2nd birthday lunch trip to Chick-fil-A that her daddy & I took her to. {Funny we took her again to Chick-fil-A on her 5th Birthday}

And this is how that layout turned out.

This is one of my all time favorite scrapbook pages that I have done.

I used glittered alpha stickers to spell out two since I had already used the number in the sheet of stickers.

 I had some cute cupcakes to line up just like the original layout from Scrapbook etc.'s page.

 I am so proud! Even if I did get some help from Scrapbooks etc. along the way.

Here are some tips to scrap-lift a layout that you love:

- Find a few elements you love and mimic those.  {my glittered #, cupcakes in a row}
- Use the same overall direction of vision. {horizontal with cupcakes, vertical with scribble polka dot paper}
- Color inspiration. {the pastels I used}
- Pictures to take.

It doesn't need to be an exact replica of the original layout. This method this simply used for inspiration. So use it to your advantage, rather it be to journal, photos to take, papers/colors/patterns to use, etc. Have fun with it.

Do you see other layouts and like to use the inspiration in your own pages?

What is one of your most favorite layouts you have ever created?

Project Life Week 2

Page 4

This Sunday we spent it with Spencer Church of the Nazarene, where Mark's Sister Lauren and her family goes to church. It is a cute little southern country church in the middle of no where, but we really enjoyed it.

On Monday we ate Taco Casa for Lunch and spent the day with Granna. We went to Academy Sports and Outdoors to see if we could find some outfits for the girls for the game Monday night. Oh you did know that the Crimson Tide are playing for the National Championship right? {They won!} And the girls finally got to see how big their puppy Barkley had gotten since the last time they saw him.

We spent Tuesday getting my hair done. It took a forever 4 hours. We also got Taco Casa for lunch of course and took it out to Jennifer's house in Gordo, Mark's other sister.

We left on Wednesday to head back home.

This page is a little blurry, sorry. It was my birthday {on Monday the 16th, which shouldn't be on this week... oops} and we went to eat at my favorite place, P.F. Changs the Friday before and met Mama Euva & Uncle Jon Jon. We dessert I got my must-have-can't-leave-till-I-eat-this-dessert Banana Spring Rolls. It is to die for!

We also had some Skpye-ing going on this week. We had never Skyped before until now and we have two interviews! Wow God is up to something. This all happened in the matter of 30 mins. Maybe He is trying to tell me to relax a little.
Somehow I managed to sneak next week's pics into this layout. Baby Ava was born on my bday, remember this post
And the reason we were able to see her as soon as we did is because we got a phone call at 10:00pm on Wednesday Night to see if you could come interview at a church in Alabama. Needless to say we were in the car the next morning.

The fortune cookie fortunes are smashed on the bottom right corner from lunch during that interview.

Hello Monday: myLife

Today is a new chapter in my life...

I'm starting the inspiredtoaction.com Hello Mornings challenge... but that isn't the new chapter, I'm 28 today, it's my birthday, and another chance to come closer to my Lord and allow Him to shape me into the person He wants me to become.

A lot has already happened in 2012... I'm excited, and to be honest also a little scared... but the more I dive into the loving word of the Father, He reassures my doubt and it over comes my fear... I wish I didn't need that reassurance every morning... but then I wouldn't need Him and that is no wish at all!

I praise the Lord for His word! And for His Love!

Psalms 1
1 Blessed are those
who do not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but who delight in the law of the LORD
and meditate on his law day and night.
3 They are like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will be destroyed.

In the challenge some sweet ladies worked so hard to offer a Bible Study for those who didn't have one, since this really is what this whole challenge is about...

- To develop the life giving morning habit of waking up early, spending time with God and being intentional about planning our days and exercising regularly.Specifically challenging moms to stop waking up TO their children and start waking up FOR them.

And since I LOVE Bible Study SOOO much... that puts me at doing BSF:Act, Reading God's Story, and Run to Him! Prayerfully asking God to help me keep up with all three and to get me out of bed in the morning early enough to do so!

Project Life Week 1

I'm attempting Project Life this year. You can read more about it here. Like I mentioned in that post, the concept is new to me. So I am going to try to mix my old ways of doing whole 12 x 12 layouts into small 4 x 6 ones or even 3 x 4 size.

This is the 2nd page in my 2012 album. It was a blank calendar scrapbook paper. I journal dates and short event son this page to help me stay organized if I get behind. This way I know what to scrap when I do get behind, because already I'm behind. {It's sad} Now looking at this page you can also see how busy we are!

January was the busiest time for the Sanford family since we have been a family. There was lots of great times made this month. There were also many times we had to rely on God. We are so thankful for His hand on our lives and ministry.

Page 3

This week was only a half a page since the calendar was on the other half. This is page 3. We spent the new year at Pastor Don Cowan's church. Pastor Daddy Mark led worship there. I also did the worship graphics for their new series 2012 Initiative. After church we went to Logan's to eat some lunch. Shortly after lunch we headed over to Sapulpa to eat with Papa Ron, Nana Barbara, Tasha, Todd and the new youth pastor at Sapulpa Church Dustin Wine. Ha-ha, he is an instresting fellow, but we have become friends and enjoy our time with him whenever we are around him. We all ate dinner at one of our favorite places in Sapulpa .... well actually Glenpool, Santa Fe Steak House. Yum! The girls love to ride the longhorn out front. Then we went to their house to celebrate Christmas with them. Yeah I know it's late, ha-ha or way too early since it is the next year already, but it was the only time we could. The girls got cute stuffed animals and dolls.
Then come Thursday we loaded up in the car to head to Alabama. We are so excited to go home and see everyone. We really need a vacation and to see family. There are lots of people to visit and things to do.
Our niece and the girls cousin Jenna turned 5 on Saturday. We we able to celebrate her birthday with her, something we have never been able to do in person before. So it was a great time. After the party we went to see Mark's grandfather Pop. It was good to get to see him. We were able to get a decent pic of three generations with Pop.
I have enjoyed my first week of Project Life and can't wait to see how I keep up and "cultivate a good life and record it."

Project Life 2012: Title Page

Here is my "in progress" Title page.
I plan on making a 3X3  row of instagram photos in the center of the page on either side of the "sanford" and then more journaling underneath. I really like my vision for this page and hope it turns out well.
